Le site minecraftdl.com est-il sûr ?

I can say that this is definitely a TERRIBLE site. I have downloaded things from this site TWICE before and got trojans (and didnt even get the thing I was TRYING to download) immediately after, which I was warned by my antivirus Webroot. I looked it up and have seen several forum posts about the subject saying it was illegally hosting other people's minecraft mods (WITHOUT their permission or even notifying them that they are doing this) to distribute malicious files without the user's permission. It is definitely illegal and it's a wonder that it still remains online and hasn't been taken down. It's also a wonder that this site is rated 'good' by WOT when just about every comment says it's a malware-hosting scam site. Please do yourself a favor and don't download from this site or support them in any way. * I rated this as unsafe for children cause although I have seen no adult content on the site, children can easily download malware or viruses on the computer, and even if an antivirus warns them, they'd probably just click X anyway (that's what I did a lot when i was little, shamefully.) Some of the malware or viruses found on this site also may contain very inappropriate content (porn, etc.)

Terrible scam/malware site. I just spent hours cleaning my 10-years old son's PC who had downloaded a map pack from *****. The pack had installed 4-5 malware/viruses that were particularly difficult to remove - I had to run the virus scanner, malwarebytes tool and adware cleaner and finally removing manually the malicious Windows service the minecraftdl had installed stopped the infections reappearing. So there is only one conclusion to be made: Minecraftdl.com is the malicious site that should be avoided like the plague.

This is one of many sites notorious in the Minecraft community for rehosting other people's work, often with false information (saying that a map is for 1.8 when it's for 1.6, etc.). Modders report that their binaries have been changed, and many users report malware/viruses. They deliberately take advantage of kids' lack of net-savvy, so I rate it unsuitable for children (although it has no adult/shocking content AFAIK)

There are very dangerous ads, and several download links throughout the page. Only one (if there even is one) is the actual one. I happened to click on one of the wrong ones, and it gave me: PriceChop virus - redirects you to random sites every time you visit a site on the internet YouTuAdBlocker virus - displays harmful ads EVERYWHERE I have no idea why this is rated "good site" on the search results. DO NOT TRUST IT.

Tried to download textures, and saw following: avast! Free Antivirus: Infection Blocked: Site:<random shit> Program:minecraftdl.exe Action:Deleted Srsly?!

I've never had any problems with this website, but I do agree with all of the Ad's, and the fact that said ad's disguise as download links, just use Adblock and you shouldn't have to worry about it. This website also has problems with marking mod's for versions they are not for.
