Le site mormon.org est-il sûr ?

This corporation claims it is "the one and only true church" and that only through it can one be saved (receive exaltation) by obedience to the laws of the gospel which include paying 10% of your gross income to it. When one begins an objective review of mormon history the red flags pop up instantly. Joseph Smith was a known conman and early on made money by promising people he could find buried treasures on their property with magic stones. This eventually led him to be charged with glass looking (conartistry). Joesph then turned to setting up a religion. He claimed to find a buried set of golden plates and translated them to what is now the Book of Mormon and contains the history of the people of the ancient americans. But nothing in the book is supported by science or archaeological evidence, and in fact contradicts everything that has been uncovered in North and South America. Joseph’s original story about the “first vision” was simply about an angel appearing to him, but many years later (1838) changed to an elaborate narrative wherein God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him and told him to join none of the Churches that existed. Okay, so then why did he join the Methodist church AFTER they supposedly told him not to??? There are so many holes in mormon story that go on and on – there are too many to list. Go research for yourself. The bottom line is that this corporation is a shame and a fraud and your money is better spent elsewhere.

While the Mormons in general seem like good people, Joseph Smith, their founder, married 23 women, and one of his "wives" was way under age. He was a convicted con-man and stole the mss for the Book of Mormon from Solomon Spaulding (this was documented in "Kingdom of the Cults" by Walter Martin.) The world wide Christian Church both Catholic and Protestant reject their books and teachings universally. So if you want a Bible authenticated by 2000 years of Christian scholars, this s NOT the place to get it.

I am a Mormon and I KNOW this is a clean, respectable, family-friendly site!! I've been on this site many, many times, and those who give it negative user ratings, are very "uneducated" individuals trying to warp the upstanding nature of what WOT is all about.

The Mormon religion was for many years officially racist—the only way a black man could get into heaven was as a white man's slave until the 1950s—and remains one of the most intolerant religious groups of homosexuality. These people are living in the 18th century. Allowing any child to visit this hateful and ignorant organization's website is very irresponsible.

Great site for finding out what Mormons truly believe. Regarding crumbinator's allegation that this site "Promotes the idea that gay people are evil" and "Promotes hatred of gay people," this is completely false; "crumbinator" is apparently unaware of (or, if aware, is being intentionally deceptive about) the Church's actual views. As I already stated in a previous comment, Church leaders teach what Jesus taught in the Bible—to love one another, and that means love everyone, regardless of their sexual attractions, gender, race, age, or their views on moral, religious, political, or other issues. The Church condemns hate and violence toward gays and lesbians, and has even supported anti-discrimination laws for gays and lesbians.
