Le site paypal.com est-il sûr ?

Useful service. Provides ability to receive and send money online. I used them for many years as an eBay seller (before eBay acquired them) and for other online transactions. I have a PayPal debit card now and it makes things a lot easier. They use to have strict policies that favored buyer in disputes over virtual goods (such as hosting) but seems to be more fair now at least allowing the seller to offer proof.

Après une commande qui s'est révélée immédiatement problématique avec risque au mieux d'argent bloqué 29 jours, au pire de perte pure et simple, paypal refuse toute interruption du processus de paiement : le "vendeur" (s'il est encore actif!) n'a pas pris la commande en compte (donc aucun travail, aucune perte) mais paypal, en revanche, refuse de perdre même une seule transaction. Conclusion: paypal a perdu un client (moi) et se trouve avec cet avis négatif sur le dos. Paypal ne sécurise pas grand chose: avec un virement ou un débit de carte de crédit à numéro unique sécurisé, c'eût été pareil.

Paypal has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I signed up for a service using Paypal as payment and was charged far in excess of the amount I agreed to pay. Paypal apparently doesn't regard this as an unauthorized payment so it appears sellers are able to deduct any amount they choose from your Paypal account. This is actually far less secure than credit cards. Their support staff won't address this and simply scan my emails for keywords and copy and paste an irrelevant response. I keep asking to be referred to a manager but receive the same nonsensical replies based on keywords. There is no process for disputing their decision so you're really at their mercy when it comes to misuse by merchants.

Уважаемый PayPal, я не совсем понимаю, почему вы увеличили поддержку по срокам доставку до 180 дней? Про почту всё известно, но и вина магазина, продавшего товар тоже есть: 1. Отправку товара задерживают от 2 недель до 44 дней. 2. Просьбу клиента (задержка трека более 20 дней на одном месте) на розыск посылки администрация магазина игнорирует, тупо отписывается (типа он самый лучший магазин в мире и другой бред) или просто уходят в "туман" (не реагируют на письма). Я считаю, что эти магазины относятся к недобросовестным продавцам! Напротив есть магазины которые, без напоминания или по первому требованию клиента, подают запрос на розыск почтового отправления и сообщают об этом адресату ( не считая тех случаев как стихийное бедствие, посылки в дорогу закатали и т.д. и т.п.) Таким продавцам можно дать послабления по срокам, по тому, что после запроса, посылка начинает дальнейшее движение максимум через сутки.

Be careful when using Paypal. I signed up for a product for 99 cents for a year and was charged $8.99 per month instead and it was over 6 months before I realised. Paypal didn't regard this an unauthorised use of my account, so be aware that you may end up paying a lot more than you thought you would when using Paypal. Apparently it's a blank cheque for the seller! I'm going to stick to credit cards when I can now.

You have to select a password at the "guest payment". Doing this you will unintentional open an account. PayPal also twice (in 2009 and 2016) sended e-mail to me claming I'd have a PayPal-Account which I never had opened. So someone missused my identity at PayPal. This might happen once (in 2009), but it never should happen twice if PayPal would be a trustworthy company.

Terrible customer service. You catch an error that occurs because they never gave a verification page, contact them immediately, and can do absolutely nothing change the payment method or set things right. Are you kidding me!! They really need some competition to spring up.

Oui, mais non... Parfois paypal est la seule solution de paiement pour un achat en ligne et... il faut bien s'y rabattre. Par le passé, eu plusieurs difficultés de paiement sur Paypal, et je ne l'ai plus utilisé depuis. Attention, de nombreux sites tentent de se faire passer pour paypal (phishing). Même si paypal n'y peut rien, cela ne coûte rien de le répéter, histoire d'éviter peut-être à certains de se faire prendre...

Shady practices. Holding of funds with no option for appeals. Money randomly disappearing from cards and bank accounts with no option for appealing or getting it back. PayPal is easily the worst "financial" website I've encountered. They are not a bank. They are not covered by the same laws banks are. They barely pretend to be a bank. I would prefer the shadiest bank rather than PayPal's CEO'S word on contract in front of the supreme court that my funds are safe.
