The application itself is not malware, however, their installer is LOADED with bad things, such as fake antiviruses, browser addons, viruses, yahoo search engine (I don't trust Yahoo, either), Chromium web browser, and TONS of other malware and unwanted programs. Like I said, if you customize the entire installer and uncheck EVERYTHING, then you should be fine, but I'd say that loading an installer with malware, scams, privacy risks, unwanted programs, etc... is slightly objectionable. Definately suspicious and a spamming junkware installer. I gave it light red for trustworthiness and dark red for child safety. I think that this site should at least be a yellow icon.

EDIT 05/18/2016: PowerISO has been much more transparent in their recent versions of the software than previous versions. Pressing Download on their site opens a prompt offering a 'search-enhancing' add-on, but the Skip and Install buttons are clearly marked without bias. There are two bundled programs included in the installer, however they are unchecked by default. After installation, no additional unwanted programs were found. I have raised my rating from a dark red to a light green. ORIGINAL REVIEW (circa 2014): Great program itself, however it is bundled with a lot of bad stuff. PC Mechanic PUP was found, along with Search Protect and Trovi hijacking my browser. Be sure to read every page on the installation and either uncheck all the programs or use Unchecky.

Its 50% unsave, if you dont know how to install softwares without any virus. Better read the licens and then if you get a virus just report them. And use the Advanced always! So you can see the hidden installed files. I am still testing for any more problems. I will talk later. Itself the programm is good. The site is good. Just the extra installation is bad.

You do NOT realize you're installing this when you're installing this software on your computer. Which is ridiculous, because you're paying for the software...it's not cheap. (Look out when fiting) The symptom you'll notice first is that when you do a Google search, there will be a full page of yellow "sponsored" ad boxes. ***** see The Bad, file formats but save only in three of them (DAA, ISO and BIN).

I purchased PowerISO because its a good product. Recently I updated to the latest version and it installed this browser hijacker called trovi. Its at this point that Im on a mission to make sure these site gets the negative attention it deserves until the change there practices, post haste.

PowerISO is an excellent piece of software. That out of the way, I give it the red rating because of the questionable business practices. Namely, along with PowerISO you have an excellent chance to get a whole bucket of malware, unless you are smart and click your way out of installing it by default. And to top it all, one of those malware programs (Trovi Search Protect or something, and yes, there are *three* of them) doesn't just give you a checkbox or radio buttons to opt-in. It masquerades itself as a license agreement page you typically find in software installs, so you are tricked into clicking "I agree", thinking it's PowerISO's EULA. I didn't feel so rick-rolled in a few years.

Just wanted to convert a DMG to an ISO really quick -- installed malware on my machine, and installed an application that made all of my default search engines "triv.com" or something. What garbage. This is not 1999, powerISO -- you can't get away with this kind of nonsense.
