Le site reddit.com est-il sûr ?

Discussion network, sharing, open-source, administered by a community (such as a cooperative). However, like all networks (social or otherwise) accessible to all, especially those who have a great success, so a huge number of users, sometimes the non suitable contents found  here (political, religious, not suitable for children), even if the moderators do what they can to remove them if necessary (law, conflicts ...). --------------------------------------------------------------------- Réseau de discussion, de partage, open-source, administré par une communauté (comme une coopérative). Cependant, comme tout réseaux (sociaux ou non) accessible à tous, surtout celles qui ont un fort succès, donc un nombre gigantesque d'utilisateurs, il arrive parfois que du contenus non adapté s'y trouvent (politique, religieux, non adapté aux enfants), même si les moderateurs font ce qu'il peuvent pour les supprimer s'il y a lieu (loi, conflits, ...).

Very good place to find groups of people with specific interests. What is unfortunate is the fact, that bad apples seem to be even in communities consisting of 20 people. There are tags that warn about questionable content, some parts require from you to accept content restrictions and reservations. Another bad thing: some fairy active communities have moderators that are on that position because of either age (long-term members) or 'nepotism' where they are promoted because moderators know them personally. It can result in interesting subreddits (places focused on specific topics) being unmoderated and administrative staff is not enforcing any changes in that matter. Parts are strictly for adults, but there are also subreddits focused on chidren, education and fairly uncommon hobbies.

I've been a Redditor since 3 June 2009. There weren't many of us then. I'm going to annoy everyone by saying "they'll never quite get the flavour back" because, seriously, how could they when they now have 40 billion unique page hits a month I ;-). Reddit has been more to me than a friend at times. The community is strong, and has no time for bullshit. I don't mourn the passing of their esoteric beginnings - that's always going to happen, I mean look at house music, once impossible to buy in shops - nowdays your grandma goes food shopping and buys the latest 25 bangin tunes she's already got in a different order... But I'm just so grateful I was there when it was developing the Reddit culture (and hivemind). Be aware of NSFW tags and NSFL tags (if they say it, then it's true). Also never go to /r/spacedicks. In all these years I never have.
