I agree that one of WOT's weaknesses, is the fact that personal animosity often taints the rating of sites. However overall, I think that in this case, most of the criticisms are accurate: Spam: Whilst I'm not someone given to hyperbole, I genuinely think that Scientology would have a real shot at being listed as THE most aggressive spam marketer in the world. It's almost impossible to get taken off their mailing list if you're unfortunate enough to give them your address. People move house...,move several times...and Sci still continues to bombard them. How? They're so desperate to get their poxy spam out, that they use skip tracing techniques to keep people on their Roladex. Probably a majority of these people have repeatedly told them to stop too, so this speaks volumes. If you know any Scientologists who've been involved for any time, you'll know that most all of them screen EVERY call with an answering machine. The reason? To avoid the yet another badgering sales pitch by their 'beloved' 'church.' To counter this, the 'church' sends staff out in groups of 3 to knock doors, normally in the evening, because that's when most people are in. But where they really show their true world class spam qualities, are when they fail to get an answer...normally they'll sneak around into the back yard, peeking through the windows, and then as soon as they clock the mark, whichever of the three it was, will start knocking on the window! So spam? Yup, by post, by email, by phone, in person, and to a degree you will never believe unless you experience it. Annoying ads or popups: Not so much. The site's actually very nicely put together. Interestingly, for all the claims of "malicious ratings," at the time of writing this comment, there's only 1 person who's ticked the option. "C'mon you maliciousers [sic], get to it. We need fake ratings! Bad customer experience: the web, the media, government agencies, and the courts are all deluged with "bad customer experiences." Many, absolutely horrendous Fraud, scam, phishing: The site is undoubtedly trying to draw people into a fraud, at least if you take the words of numerous judges as valid, it is. Scientology itself. I'd say is about 30% genuinely helpful stuff, and 70% about very cleverly, very insidiously trapping and then enslaving people's minds in the cult. To me, that adds up to 100% scam. Phishing, that's really left to OSA (Scientology's intelligence service), and that's a whole other kettle of fish. Hateful, violent or illegal content: Well they're definitely hateful, primarily towards Psychiatrists of all people (don't ask...the reason is VERY bizarre...roughly, they believe that Psychiatrists are the source of all evil going back billions of years...more recently, they've been behind the the war in Bosnia, 9--11 and a whole host of other assorted crimes. Scientologists aren't a particularly violent bunch, at least not physically. The violence they tend to dish out is spiritual and mental in nature: far more damaging to my way of thinking. Illegal content: on the site itself there's certainly a good deal that's about to be taken through the courts. So we'll just have to see on that one. Useless: no the site is interesting to many people, so it's far from useless. Other: Really this should be the biggest category. But jeez, where do you even begin...

click on their advertisements whenever you see them. This way their advertisement budget will dry up. Click on them wherever you can - and close the page not to see te page.

Religion? Yo diria que secta... ademas la pagina bloqueó la advertencia de Panda WOT con una propaganda de videos.
29
Can anybody please leave some decent comments about the website? Even if you are a person who dislikes Scientology, please give others the chance to at least find out information about the religion without having an already tainted idea of it. This is, from what I understand, a rating of the website and not of the religion itself.

It is a very educational and informative site

This site is wonderful. See for yourself, find something useful and helpful; there is always a benefit to every visit. Life gets better little steps at a time, evolving and growing in the direction of being truly happy and free, independently.

Simply a stupid cult. They milk their own for money until there's nothing left of them.
31
Money eating cult
32
A money making scam that should be avoided at all costs.
32
Spend their time trying to sell you stuff before they teach you anything.
35
costs money to join, reports of member deaths (after doing something the cult disapproves of)
33
Scientology is a cult. Cults are for killing.
35
This cult attacks anyone and everyone who criticises it publically. Supports dangerous 'therapeutic' practices and attempts to make followers believe that practitioners of mental health, like psychiatrists, are evil. Stay Away.
36
This cult is extremely dangerous, and has covered the crimes they have committed that have killed, silenced, and discredited people against the policies of the "Church" of Scientology. The "Church" exploits its members out of money, brainwashes them into performing hard labor and actions outside of moral values, such as disconnecting with family members against Scientology. free speech, however not hate speech.
32
You all need to stop rating this site badly for fraudulent reasons such as viruses and spam. You have no right to push people away from this website because you disagree with the belief system. Although I don't believe in Scientology, they still have the right of free speech and should not be punished for it. YOU ARE ALL IGNORANT AND HYPOCRITICAL.

people do believe they actually advertise on sites like youtube and facebook. They want people to kill themselves with this dangerous cult!!!!! omggg

Jest to religia równie dobra jak katolicyzm. Chrzescijan tez wpierw nazywano sekta. Moim zdaniem kler boi się nowego konkurenta, dlatego wyraza sie o nim w lekcewazacych slowach.
16
Good organization I have been involved for years those reporting fraud don't know what they are talking about. They should find out for themselves.
23
I find Scientology more morally wrong than Goatse, Tub Girl, and 2 girls 1 cup combined.
