Le site scroogle.com est-il sûr ?

As earlier poster said. This is/was a GOOD site to use Google without letting them collect your search habits. However, thanks to continued DDOS attacks the site remains no more. Following the attacks, the sites content and ownership were changed to resemble a porn site. As of today, the owner has decided to call it quits. He has publicly blamed Google itself for the attacks, as it doesn't make sense for privacy advocates like Anonymous to attack a site that is essentially on their side. Sooo, the reviews correct/incorrect no longer matter since this site exist no longer as of 23 Feb 2012. *****

DID GOOGLE EMPLOYEES WRITE THE BAD REVIEWS HERE??? This site offers a very worthy public service, and is not related to porn, malware, or anything that will harm you or your computer. Scroogle allows people to search Google without being tracked by Google. It also allows you to see where your site really comes up in Google without being served personalized search results. Google has apparently taken them offline for now, as they can't stand the competition. I hope they're back up soon, because this bodes ill for all of us, as do people who write FAKE BAD REVIEWS. This is a TRUSTWORTHY site, and you'd be wise to use it to conduct your Google searches. I do not work for Scroogle, btw. I am a webdesigner and SEO consultant who relies heavily on Scroogle's awesome service.

there is a FALSE description of this site that appears to have been made a part of WOT's review of the site. Looks like someone may have hacked WOT, since I can't come up with any other plausible way that description could have gotten there. The net effect of this hacking to someone with a good background of experience with the Internet is to appear to make Scroogle a bad site, but in actuality it is in effect making WOT a bad site since this is where the porn-sounding description is actually being displayed.

This is NOT a porn site, and Scroogle is NOT a dirty word. Looks like most of these ratings were cribbing off each other or some prudish web site perhaps that didn't take the time to find out what this actually is. Notice no one claimed this site is hosting some malware, so they're probably not very experienced users or they'd have though of that. It's really a shame to see the usually reliable WOT hijacked like this; too bad there's not a way to kick out the bad-mouthers and band them from ever coming back again.

Virtually all of these reviews are bogus. They are liars. Proof? Simply browse to the site -- it's a Google scraper (so you get Google-driven search results), but unlike Google, it does NOT keep long term records of every search you do, or if you browse using Google as your DNS, every URL you visit. Google does -- and allows hostile governments access to the information (like China). With that in mind, don't these "porn" reviews sound rather, um, convenient? Maybe they're "Googlers"? But don't believe me -- or them. Browse and find out for yourself.
