While many historians (myself included) sometimes cringe at the decisions made by the Smithsonian and other museums, the Smithsonian is the standard bearer for America's national identity. The content on their site represents collections of Americana that are unparalleled, and are priceless. Like it or leave it, our national treasures are in their hands, and are well displayed through their system of webpages.
