Le site synonym.com est-il sûr ?

This site appears to be legitimate but has very little content.  Given ist web address (synonym.com) I had anticipated a much larger list of words or more search options relating to finding more words.  For teens through adults looking for essay ideas or for expanding vocabulary I would not recommend this site. Completely kid friendly and could see this being a nice, clean, simple page for children still attending elementary school.

When I pulled up the site it worked flawlessly and there was no spam, popups, surveys or any of the things that others are complaining about. Perhaps the site has changed. Perhaps the other reviewers are failing to run things like NoScript and Request Policy. When one runs those correctly you will experience a completely different web. This is why I urge people to block things like Google, Facebook, Twitter... and see a clean web again. The one thing preventing this from getting recommended is the quizzes at the bottom wont work(because something is blocked?) and their purpose is unknown.

I looked up one word. I was forced to answer two questions before the site would show me the results. The questions were clearly for advertising purposes. More ads permeate the site and get in the way of any information that might be given. The final result for my looked-up word: nada, zip, zero, bupkis, not a thing. The site repeated my look-up word as its own synonym. Useless. It may have been a useful site in some long ago era, but now it is Useless and worse.

First, it couldn't even give ma synonym for a common word. Considering it calls itself synonym.com, I find that annoying. Second, site tries to data mine with questions. It spammed me with pop-ups. It was difficult to exit the site (had to close browser window). I think it wanted to link my Facebook account, but by then I was running for the hills. I'm very curious how it got a good rating.

Ok... first, I also got pop-ups. Second, it was unable to find a single synonym for, 'achieve' or 'achievement'. finally drug out my actual dictionary to make sure I was spelling it correctly. For 'succeed' these are ALL the synonyms it found: " 'win', 'bring home the bacon', 'deliver the goods' & 'come through' " - What? Are you kidding me? off the top of my head I can think of more! attain, accomplish, prevail... For the above reasons alone, I do NOT trust this site. I'm sure it has a purpose, but I don't think it includes finding synonyms/antonyms. I suggest checking or deleting any cookies left by this site.
