The poor ratings here are the result of misinformation by anti-DRM fanatics and possibly content pirates. The TPM chip does NOT do all the horrible things that people have claimed it does; it is designed to be used to the owner's benefit. It is used in Windows security features like Bitlocker and Windows Hello to store keys and credentials locally. When you enter the PIN for a BitLocker protected drive, the boot manager sends that PIN to the TPM chip and the TPM chip returns the BitLocker key upon successful authentication of the PIN, and locks down if it detects attempted "PIN hammering". When you enter a Windows Hello PIN it authenticates it with the TPM chip and just the same protects against brute force attacks.

The rating of a site should reflect whether visiting it is safe for a typical user of WOT. Whether you agree with the philosophy of Trusted Computing Group or not has no bearing on whether visiting trustedcomputinggroup.org is safe for WOT users or not. This site has no threats for child safety and is trustworthy. That is all that should count.

The bad rating some gave to this site is just due to their misunderstanding and/or disagreement with the goal of the Trusted Platform. It has nothing to do with anything dangerous with the site. This site is informative on what TPM is and what it is for. I wonder how someone can consider information can cause harm to kids or anyone else. These activists are a real shame. The goal of the WOT is not to do your own propaganda.

this is the home of the controversial trusted computing chip that refuses the owner of the computer the rights to modify and use their computer as they would like to. it takes away the power from the owner of the computer and gives it to the creator of the computer. it restricts the owner of the computer to using their property as the creator of the computer sees fit. it basically denies you permission to use your computer how you want.
