This is not a bulk rating. A Google search for the free and open-source VLC media player revealed links to this site. This site is NOT an official download site for VLC, has no affiliation with VLC, and their distribution methodology is unethical and diametrically opposed to the philosophy behind VLC.
Sites like this rely on the ignorance of the masses to push the installation of their advertising spyware onto unsuspecting users who do not realize they are NOT downloading the official product, but a scamware product that will hijack their browsers and install unnecessary advertising software which does NOT support the non-profit VideoLAN foundation in any way.
This is basically like someone reselling Girl Scout Cookies with advertising taped to the boxes.
Sites like this are fraudulent, but unfortunately not illegal, because they admit what they do in the fine print, knowing that nobody will actually read it.

Does not load the application but loads spam-ware onto the browser.
Install runs for a long time so may be doing lots of other very bad things.

No problems. Don't listen to the bad reviews. They didn't give any valid specific negative reasons. Downloaded the VLC media player perfectly.

Very suspicious... the homepage is not a homepage, but a download page of whatever brought you there. I would not trust it.

We never ask users to sign in and make accounts. We have no accounts and no users (at all). Everything is just free and open to everyone. Please make sure you leave a review for the correct site, because collecting user information/creating accounts is not possible for our website.
