QuackWatch provides consumer information about quackery, health fraud, and related topics. It is part of the QuackWatch network of sites operated by consumer advocate Stephen Barrett, M.D.

It appears this website is sponsered by pharma companies who obviously do not want their sales to go down. So they will write against everything that threatens their market. He's a retired psychiatrist who pretends to know it all.

The best site for information on dubious and unproven alternate medicine - and also warn people to stay away from them. No reason to not visit it.

Author has a well researched, unbiased review of homeopathic medicines among many other quacks. Cites a wide variety of sources and knows what they are talking about. Reliable source of information for those looking for information about the latest Quacks.

An excellent resource, for over 20 years, describing all the cons and quack treatments that have been foisted upon the sick, the suffering, and the uninformed.. There are many other reputable contributors to this site, besides dr Stephen Barrett, and all articles offer links to and citations from peer reviewed science based articles

A much needed site, acting as bulwark against the onslaught of pseudo-science and pseudo-medicine.

Whether this is a "front" website for pharmaceutical propaganda remains to be debated, but what needs no debate is the terrible disinformation this site promotes as fact misleading people for the Profit and Control of large Corporations who do not respect human rights. you should go to their website (and don't just read what I write) and search up various articles such as Colloidal Silver, Genetically Modified Organisms, Saturated Fat, Fluoride, people or groups such as Mercola and Weston A Price. you will see when you search up these items lies. For example: Colloidal Silver is blathered as "Dangerous" or "Watch out" and most popular "Argyria" bluing of skin. This is absolutely bias and the site doesn't even give all of the information ( which is a pattern I noticed ) namely how Colloidal Silver with its anti-bacterial properties which was used constantly for centuries ( along with copper ) with coins being thrown in milk or water containers of pioneer America and cups, bowls and eating utensils from medieval times made of the stuff. ( where the word "silverware" comes from ) Let's touch on Argyria, Quackwatch screams out beware but ( remember they don't tell you everything) that famous blue skin man ( who else have you saw that was blue considering millions of Americans use/buy silver ) and others most likely used poorly homemade silver, which resulted in large particle silver compounds and the person being much more susceptible to Argyria. ( ***** ) Finally there is financial incentive given the rise of ( now notorious ) "Antibiotics" which are patentable ( and Profitable ) while silver is not. Lastly bacteria can't build up resistance on silver but on "Antibiotics" they can and have created a disastrous scenario of DANGEROUS "Antibiotic" Resistant Bacteria.( like MRSA ) You can see by this one example how ignorance ( from lack of responsible research ) can destroy humanity more than any weapon ever created I do not support this website because of that. ( Truly the PEN [or keyboard] is mightier than the Sword! ) related to silver: ***** Ps. Do you know they are also pro-GMO too!

If you are tempted to go for "energy healing", "Alternative Medicine", Accupuncture, "Complementary Medicine", Naturopathy, Chirpquacty, etc. Check here first for the truth about medical scams

This site attempts to discredit without substantial basis or evidence alternative health advice. It seems to me to be an industry tool to deflect perfectly sensible and healthy criticism of questionable standard mainstream health drugs and treatments.
5
The true Quacks are the ones running this site. These guys are bought and paid for by Big Pharma. This site is disgusting propaganda on key issues.
4
accurate information regarding Dr. Burzynski, and other frauds out there
7
Biased and most likely supported by Big Pharma who has no interest in healthy people

Very interesting scientific information. Especially interesting was this article: http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/Victims/craven.html
7
Great site to protect consumers.
10
Great science related website. Safe.

Just because something is not yet proven by science, does not make it untrue. Especially in the field of medical science.
9
Biased presentation of the facts regarding Dr. Burzynski

There is certainly some good information here, but many of the pieces on this site are either out-of-date (by as much as 15 years in some cases) or unnecessarily dogmatic and prejudiced. Among many other things, the author attempts to discredit organic farming and acupuncture. Personally, I demand solid scientific evidence for medical claims, and support having a healthy dose of skepticism, but these folks are taking it too far IMHO. Make your own decisions about alternative medicine practices based on common sense, consult allopathic AND naturopathic doctors, and keep in mind that the author of Quackwatch is highly biased. For further information about Quackwatch's author and his trustworthiness, I suggest examining this article: *****

It´s a shame that sites like this try to discredit alternative medicine that demonstrably has cured people that school medicine could not helt.
