Le site youtube.com est-il sûr ?

YouTube, while a good site itself, is controlled by Google who has done some questionable things in the past. The site is fair to the average user and is safe to use, however, beware of their copyright policies. They have a whole list of poorly built, poorly curated automated systems that can take down videos you post for a wide variety of things that the machine THINKS are infractions. What's worse is that you may not actually get your video back up again if you don't have a network to represent you. Use, but be wary of their policies.

It's a pretty good site i guess It's a site where people can upload videos of any type (not porn tho) It's a site where people get famous then haters start to f**k them up the a$$ It's a site where small crappy youtubers will hate on other channels or youtubers then the fanboys or fangirls of the youtuber come and attack the small crappy youtuber then the small crappy youtuber makes video telling the fanboys and fangirls that you are just making me MONEY LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL then the small crappy youtuber gets ban and then makes a new account and starts all over

The comments on youtube can get extremely controversial if you watch videos about touchy subjects, and sooner or later someone is bound to compare something small to the Holocaust.  There is monumental educational value on this website. If your teacher is terrible at explaining the difference between a monomer and a polymer, you can watch a video about it. If you have trouble visualizing Edgar Allen Poe steadily, steadily opening his master's chamber door and smothering him with a mattress, there is a video about that as well. If the creator of the video is wrong about anything, there is sure to be an angry expert calling him out in the comments section. Still, I would keep an eye on children using this website. Don't constantly watch over their shoulder or scour through their watch history (yes, anyone can see their history if they don't clear it). But pay attention when your children talk to you about the things on youtube because knowing what youtubers they are interested in will reveal what is important to them and what you might need to share your views about with them.  I'm not sure if there is a filter for bad words or not. If there is, I don't use it. But whatever nasty words kids see on the Internet are the same words they'll hear in the lunch room, so you can't really do anything to protect them. Privacy should be your biggest concern regarding youtube. If you are a content creator (you upload videos), you don't have any privacy really. If you are just a subscriber, anyone can see your history, subscriptions, playlists, likes, dislikes, comments, and I think what you intend to watch unless you go through the agonizing process of changing your privacy settings. Youtube is currently owned by Google. Because Google+ was possibly the biggest disappointment of their company's history, they integrated it with youtube. So everything you do on youtube is tied in with a Google+ account whether you want a Google+ account or not. I have no idea what people can see if they go to your Google+ profile, but knowing how bad Google is at protecting your privacy, it can't be pretty. Overall, youtube is a great website where freedom of speech is widely taken advantage of and people share wonderful and horrible ideas. The original owners of youtube brought so many phenomenal people to the site and set it up to be fantastic. Google ruined it, but it's still a great website where you can fill your head with virtually anything.
