Youtube and hulu can practically replace television if you're too cheap for cable like me. They make a good effort to protect children though there is still a lot of inappropriate stuff if you search for it. The servers are reliable but often their flash has hiccups. Large companies can't help but be at the mercy of the MPAA and RIAA so often they ban a lot of videos or mute them. They're also owned by Google and like to do shady stuff like removing random videos, user accounts, and reducing view counts seemingly on a whim.
