This site simply acts as a host for other companies who do not want to host their own sites (I.e Facebook). IF those sites contain infections then this site may well be an intimidatory for that user but they act quickly to resolve such situations and generally, are very reputable. IF you block this site, large sections of the internet (Especially social media and multimedia content) will fail to work or not work as well as it could do. These servers are very quick, which is why they attract the likes of Facebook. I have tested some programs and it appears that this site hosts the server of a spyware program. The main site might be down but servers on it are still up. It infects "svchost.exe" and the hackers get total control of your pc. If you see this ip as an established connection trought "svchost.exe" unplug the internet and get a rat remover program / reformat the pc.

I have to change my previous statement about the IP Address Range ***** - 184.87.255.255, I also deleted my rating. Though it comes back on most IP Checking Sites as http://akamaitechnologies.com After Blocking Those IP Addresses most of ***** and ***** Don't Work. But its still not Windows Update. In-fact the only internet related item that didn't work after blocking those IP addresses was FaceBook, I'm not sure how this happened. Maybe that akamaitechnologies was a bad site got kicked off the web and FaceBook took over their servers or maybe Facebook bought them out. But all that explains why you see that IP address on almost every site you visit, due to those damn like buttons and connect with FaceBook links on almost every web site on the planet. I mean there's even a Share your comment on FaceBook: check-box below this Submit comment window and it has the little f in a blue box probably directly off the facebook site.
