I attempted to purchase an item from this store on 07/07, entered all card details, address etc and waited. Shortly afterwards, I received a phone call from the company wanting a) scanned proof of ID, eg passport or drivers license, b) Scanned copy of utility bill to prove address AND c) Scanned copy of the credit card used on the transaction!! I made contact with my credit card company who assured me that no-one should ask these details and indeed, they had immediately authorised the payment with no queries on their side. I cancelled the order and requested a refund under their 7 day period. 3 weeks later and this hasn't materialised and no further contact from the company. The order acknowledgement came from another site ***** and share the same proprietor, tracked down to a dingy backstreet flat in Berlin. VAT charged, but do they pay it?
