Often, corporations will manipulate the system and even break the law by bribing judges to sentence individuals to more time at the facilities that they control. It is a for-profit business. The more people they incarcerate, the more they get paid. There is no correctional system in this country, only a penal system. The main goal of CCA is to make money and gain profit. Everything else is to improve their image. Our society has a problem with crime because of several complex socioeconomic reasons. These companies make it more difficult for people who made bad decisions by destroying their lives. They hire officers who have questionable backgrounds, and contribute to an already terribly corrupt system. Corporate crime and corporate greed.
