CDex was previously (in my opinion) the best open source cd ripping tool available - but as of the last release v1.78, they have included the OpenCandy adware/grayware framework in the installer. Yet another trusted publisher goes to the dark side.

It is an interesting (sorta) open source program that could be handy in some situations. However the issue is it comes with several of the worst PUPs and junk out there such as Open Candy, Trovi... pre-checked and buried in the "Custom" installs. That alone drops it's open source credibility. Then when installing it asks for a donation and then opens up a donation page. Now, I do believe in donationware and sometimes show some love. However, the PUPs gave this one a DQ. Not recommended.
