Folks.... ChristianMingle is not spamming you! (I'm so tempted to put that in all caps, but I'm resisting.) Just like Amazon, BestBuy, and thousands of other websites, CM is showing up in your spam because they offer an affiliate program, which some people are promoting in unscrupulous ways. Additionally, it is a niche website (Christian-themed), and so is ideal for promoting to people who fit the niche. I'm not a spammer, nor have I ever promoted an affiliate product, although I study online marketing and have several websites (christianaudiobooks.com, contemporarychristianmusic.net, bestchristianmusic.com, mynewchurch.com, etc.). I also have no vested interest in defending CM, other than to say that I've been using their site (unpaid membership) for about two weeks, and am happy with the service -- even though their site is a little uncool, and a bit heavy on the advertising. Regarding privacy, they don't disclose any more or less info about their members than Match, or any of the other sites. The only info about members they distribute is whatever members have placed in their public profiles. I hope this helps. It's not a perfect site, but it is legit, and shouldn't be avoided because of the misguided comments that people are posting here.

When last checked the owners supported the gay-rights movement. I don't hate or bash gays ,but I don't like to be deceived either. So I canceled my subscription after about two months. Another thing that really disappointed me was that many only labeled themselves as Christian, but really weren't.

Good site as far as I can tell. Enjoyable customer experience. Search options are a bit limited, but offers more in other areas than other sites in the same line of business. I don't know how they market themselves, but the service and site is good in my experience. Worth a try if you're single and Christian.
