Rated red for child safety so your kids don't erase your computer.
Checked the Ads category because the site has significant advertising for the paid software Blancco, as well as a full screen ad displayed after DBAN is done destroying your data.

Before discarding an old computer I highly recommend you run DBAN on all the hard drives. This keeps your private data from ending up for sale on the net somewhere.

DBAN (Darik´s Boot And Nuke) ist ein klasse Tool, um Daten restlos vom Computer zu entfernen. Was dieses Tool löscht, kann nicht wiederhergestellt werden. Gut, wenn man Festplatte oder PC verkaufen will.
Noch besser, wenn man einen besonders hartnäckigen Virus eingefangen hat. Nach einem dreifachen Überschreiben ist nichts mehr davon übrig. Einmaliges Shreddern sollte man nicht wählen; zu unsicher.
