Facebook has an incredibly horrible privacy policy. All of what you submit on facebook is their property to do with what they please. There is no aspect of privacy on facebook.

Even though Chain Letters are probably fake, some Facebook Pages have Death Chain Letters that say that someone might die if they don't forward on that mean post.
Facebook really makes no effort to keep the "adult" sites from child access. They state you are be to at least 13 to have a page, but I have come across children 7 or 8 with pages. They apparently do not ask for copies of ID, so......... there have been numerous pedophile pages found and reported as well. It can be a dangerous place for kids and more should be done to ensure it is safer for those not abiding by the age rules.

and the application is mostly made by user
As long as you stay away from the wrong people, stick with the right people, and monitor who and what goes through your profile, Facebook is typically harmless to anyone. If you have a child that uses Facebook, you may need to create your own account. Facebook requires the user to be 13 years of age in order to use the website freely, as required by federal law. Just be careful what they do, and you should have no problems.
