Younger children should be supervised on a computer anyways- this site is very useful when needed to keep in contact with people or just wanting to have fun. You can also block stuff on facebook which makes for great privacy and security issues!
In my opinion, the Facebook is the main social network with a lot of possibility, application and information. Users should be careful with their personal settings (and these are a lot!).
Everyone can report and block spammers or other privacy attack, adult or illegal content, fake profiles, etc.
This is some bullshit. I "deactivated" my account and they sent a message to my phone that I couldn't delete (so it kept alerting me) unless I logged back into Facebook (reactivating my account in the process) only to find that the message was telling me that I had deactivated my account.
It is hard to trust the Apps. They seems to give lots of your information to people you don't know. Read the terms and conditions. It doesn't seem that you are very protected when you add these to your profile etc.
There are so many potential privacy issues if you don't know what you're doing and play close attention to all the settings, which default to leave you wide open.
Also, malware issues, have had a facebook ad try to infect my machine with scareware.
Today Facebook can give the information of any one to anyone that requests it unless a certain person ticks a little tiny box, most people in the world are unaware of. This is the way they make their money, by giving your infromation, things you like and do to marketing companies.
