If you use Internet Explorer on here expect to get a ton of ads and pop ups, use Firefox and an add-on called Adblock Plus, gets rid of all ads,

There are still plenty of kinks to be worked out, and there is still excessive adult pictures/content throughout.

Way too many applications need private information about the user to work. Major privacy issues here.

Poor data portability. Facebook takes a walled-garden approach that makes me worry about what happens to all of my content if they suddenly need to raise cash or go bust.

Very popular now, but just like myspace was, its just a fad.

Great site. The privacy is better than MySpace. But as always, you need to take precautions. Make your profile private, only add people you know, have a strong password, and beware of phishing and spam.

Good entertaining site. The moderate spam. The content for adults more likely moderated, such meets on all sites.

Viruses, Inappropriate pictures and spam will only be viewable, or downloaded if you are made a friend of someone who has these items on their facebook pages. If you are not a friend, you can't get to those site. Be aware of whom you are adding as friends or accepting who invite you as a friend.

For the most part facebook is good, though some of the ads they run are not. But I feel those ads should be flagged on the advertisers homepage, not here. The people who've sent me friend invites here are people I know, or know of through friends and real world networks, unlike Myspace where I often get spammed by unscrupulous users. Facebook is far better than that.
