I retract my earlier comment that Hostbill is a trustworthy business. This is a company operated by a single individual. While you will get the software offered at his site, you will not receive any support and the price for yearly updates will be increased by several hundred percents.
Within a few weeks in 2013, the price for yearly updates was raised twice - first from $45 to $299, then from $299 to $1,000 a couple of weeks later. The ones that bought the software believing the price would be $45 or $299 after the first year, are pretty much screwed. He has no intention of keeping the prices you are offered when you purchase the software. Also the price for the first year was raised from $199 to $299, then from $299 to $499, and a week later from $499 to $1,000. All this in less than a year.
The software is full of bugs. He has no intentions of fixing them. If you want to report a bug, it will cost you $75 (even if it says on the page that it won't). He also claims to offer free support in the forums, but he doesn't.
This is a scam. You were warned. If you buy anything from hostBill, you WILL get screwed by the owner.
I have been using Hostbill for about a year now. The customer service is excellent. They do not provide a phone number but email support is the main method of communication these days. Millions of people buy stuff on eBay every day without a phone number for the seller. i dont see any difference here. As for the script, It has its moments but 99%% of the time it is reliable and secure.
As an official partner of OnApp and being in good terms with VPS.Net , It's hard to believe that this application operated a fishy business.
Hidden Whois does have another meaning, they tried their best to avoid spam and doesn't only mean that they operated a fishy business.
Cookie policy, terms of use and everything else is out there. I'm using this software and didnt have any problems with contacting them and getting quality support.
I saw a privacy policy with no errors (I didn't read it all the way through), a Terms of Service, and not every company is listed in the BBB. The hidden WHOIS information is a bit fishy, but they seem like a solid company.
