I have loaded several screens from this site on my browser (Safari/Mac and Chrome/Mac) and examined the scripts, and other settings and have found this site, unlike many other download sites, to be safe. I was not redirected to an advert via a pop-under or some other tactic. There does not appear to anything sinister going on here. If you do a scan and are not used to web programming, javascript, etc. it might be easy to be mislead when you see things like "modal alert popups" come up ... These are simple dialogue windows, such as the one I am using right now to do this review. Some sites do use bad javascripts, so I encourage users to look up any they see and get a good blocker plug-in. I am not giving an opinion on downloading (this website is a download site). The laws vary from country to country on this and it is not my field of expertise. Separately, there is an amazing amount of free films/documentaries/etc. that people are putting up that they -want- downloaded and this IS ***** least in the US (assuming the uploader owns the material...but you understand where I'm going with this). If you are going to go to a download site...this is one is pretty safe. Now... I have tested this during browsing and what I'd call average customer experience. I did not test, however, downloading of either software or p--n. For 2 reasons. 1. I know both categories are loaded with viruses wherever you go, 2. it's not relevant to this site's score. This site is not responsible for the virus payload that you might get if you download a "free" copy of Photoshop (which is about a thousand bucks). The child rating is tricky because who am I to say what is suitable for your child? We're in a grey zone. I rate things unsafe for kids when I see things like 1. virus/malware payload disguised as an offer to play a game, 2. an immediate nude shot/ anything which would get an R rating at any theater, 3. real risk such as a chatroom known to be frequented by nasty types. Other than that I try not to play with the child rating that much. I lowered it slightly because it is very easy to download adult content and software (so maybe viruses) from the home screen.
