The program (Lightworks) is no malware, as far as I can see.
Just make sure that your computer is powerful enough to run it (otherwise it will be very laggy…)
There is a free version with…
… a trial for a specific time
… after this time you need to register, but it is still free
You have to pay for the full version.
Hotdoge3 reported this website as malware with a lilk to a website scanner, this website doesn't rate Lightworks (anymore?) as malicious website.

Just after I installed Lightworks, everything went to hell. Avira detected viruses. Malwarebits AntiMalware detected a lot of malwares, my Chrome settings changed, a really weird search engine just apeared in my browser (trovi.com), a couple of unwanted programs installed themselves without warning (BackupMyPC), and my public ip address moved to Oranjestad, in Aruba Island, which make me unable to logging in to a lot of my accounts (Spotify, for example).
