This is a fabulous idea whose time is long overdue. No matter how you slice it, fee-for-service is the best way to get the quality of service that you want. Medical tourism has resulted in people going overseas (and paying out-of-pocket) for care that can be provided better here, if you can escape the insurance bind. MediBid seems to be the answer to a lot of people's prayers--those who want an exceptional service at a reasonable price. You won't get that when insurance companies are in the mix!
