The problem with this site is the power it gives to members to destroy other website's reputation with nothing more than a negative rating. That many people simply enjoy negatively rating websites is apparent by the many people negatively mass rating sites they have never even visited and have no way to ascertain the validity of their rating. Then there are the retail websites getting poorly rated by competitors, or disgruntled customers with no qualms about destroying their online credibility. Next time you see a negative rating, I challenge you to view the rater's rating history. Many high ranking raters here have so many ratings under their belt that they could not have possibly given quality ratings. A perfect example is one individual I saw with over 2 million ratings done over the course of 3 years. I'll do the math for you: that's close to 6,000 websites rated per day and when I actually looked at the first 10 pages, I saw ZERO positive ratings and they were all done using "a mass rating tool". Think what you like, but WOT is anything but a legitimate rating system. It presents itself as an "accurate reflection of website trust", but the truth is, WOT encourages and even facilitates inaccurate ratings by allowing people to mass rate websites and rewards them with rating-based achievements and rank.

The rating is often based on the rater's subjective opinion of the subject of the content of the web-site like, "I do not like the republicans so I will give the site, republicans.org, the worst possible rating on all counts." If enough people do this, this site will find itself blocked by this ap. In short this ap might find itself to be the tool of hate campaigners or bigots rather than what it purports to be doing.

Dieser Informations-/Werbesender überzeugt eigentlich nicht. Viele Berichte werden aufgeputscht um eine gewisse Sensationshascherei zu erreichen. Die Kommentare warum sich Kurse verändern, auch im TV, zur Börse sind haareraufend. Man sollte schon wissen, dass die Börse die größte Zockerplattform ist. Wenn interessiert es, wenn ein Sack Reis in China umfällt und gleichzeitig der Kurs von SAP sinkt?

A personal rating system for members when they should recomment websites objective. How can it work? It can't! WOT promotes members wo lie, claim and defame. Why? Its an advantage for WOT when the affected site starts acting... with an own account, own initiative, own activity.... its the ***** principle, and it sucks as hell. The idea is great, the implementation NOT.

WOT ist bei mir ein muss, das Addon hat mich schon vor so manchen Internetseiten gewarnt. TOP. Aber irgendwas stimmt hier nicht mit den Bewertungen!? Mein Beispiel: ***** Diese Seite hat 39 Bewertungen, davon 6x "I trust" und 27x "I don't trust". Der Rest sind Enthaltungen. Trotzdessen ist die WOT Reputation "Ausgezeichnet". Das soll mir mal einer erklären? Ich habe hier deswegen "Suspicious" gewählt.
