We can't forget WOT offers a free service (community based) to protect us from scams. It's true they could have better ways to detect fraudulent ratings, but that's also true for any big services we use nowadays like amazon or ebay. I believe this is a great addon and a good tool to use to have a quick identification if the website you're visiting has any kind of problems.
