A friend with considerable high level, world-wide consulting experience at a top tier consulting firm interviewed with Kenway Consulting. A position was offered and subsequently accepted in Jan, 2013 with an expected start date in March-April, 2013. A week before the expected start time, they called and at first offered a lower salary. Then they withdrew the offer entirely. Now, this whole scenario took place over a six month period and at least six separate interviews. You would think they could have been more up front and figured the salary matter out at the time the offer was made -- not two months later. Not only was this handled poorly, but it wasted a considerable amount of time. It is unconscionable to offer a position then try to renegotiate the salary then withdraw the offer -- not to mention that it places at risk the individual's current position as well as wasting considerable time and having to start the job search all over again. . The Kenway Vision is, "To foster a premier consulting organization based on quality, ethics and the consideration of every individual with whom we engage.." If this is an example of ethical consideration, then I have to question why anyone would want to engage them. I sure wouldn't -- and won't.
