It appears to be a newspaper of some sort.  The Guardian linked a story about adblocking and I trust that The Guardian isn't going to send me to an unsafe site.  I came here only to read the article, so I cannot vouch for the content, only that it is perfectly safe.  As I have Adblock Plus installed, popups don't affect me.

I'm glad the low ratings by many people brought my attention to the company's business practices. It's not "wrong" for people to rate the site as one people don't trust. It's truthful. And, assuming the descriptions of the company's business practices are accurate, well-founded.

Advertising meets Adblock Plus's criteria for non-intrusive advertising. Most advertising I have seen from this provider is outside of the main reading area and unintrusive. While I checked the "Ads/pop-ups" category, this site does not use pop-up advertising as that would cause them to get disqualified from Adblock Plus's whitelist. Quite ironically, competitor ***** is rated green.
