There are many different subreddits that some of them are very useful and good and some are not suitable for children. There might be some hate speech in the comments as well, but they are usually removed by moderators.

It can have NSFW content, but only in certain subreddits.
NSFW content is marked with the [NSFW] tag, so it's usually pretty easy to avoid.

This site has a natural tendency to create an echo chamber.
The selection of what should be 'quarantined' also doesn't seem to follow their TOS, but rather, the political agendas and opinions of the moderators.
I have rated it as suspicious for these reasons.

The users of Reddit are predominantly civil and okay for children, but there is a tremendous amount of pornography, racism, violence and other adult content in the various parts of the site. Parents should be very careful about allowing access to Reddit to children.

Great and informative website. Consists of interest groups (called 'sub-reddits') on any topic you can think of. The front page is pretty child safe but there can be adult content although usually marked with an 'NSFW' sticker or a page asking you to confirm you are over 18 before viewing.
