I received an email purporting to be from the Open University, where all the links were to "thirdeight[dot]com". The email was sent by "whittierent[dot]com", a Vermont-based marketing outfit owned by QUOTIENT MARKETING SERVICES, LLC of New York. Both of those are internet marketers, surprise surprise. In a spirit of investigation I clicked on the link in the email which allegedly was to get an OU prospectus. Up came a page for this site. Whoever's behind all this (and the Fort Lauderdale, Fla. address of the registrar for the 'Whittier Expert Enterprises' website gives a strong clue) I don't think they're exactly 100% legit. The word "scuzzy" springs to mind. Oh, and if this is still showing "I haven't rated" then the WOT site is still broken. I gave this an "I don't trust" and "Unsuitable for children".

Boycott de ces sites, de leurs produits et de leurs clients.

don't fall for this fake unsubscribe / opt out option.. never submit your email. Rule of thumb when dealing with spammers : Spammers continue their pernicious practice because it's effective. Help stomp it out by boycotting them. Don't buy their products regardless of how enticing the offers may be. Some clever spammers include instructions at the bottom of the message on how to remove your name from their list. The worse thing you can do is to reply. Why? Because this tells the spammer that you read your mail and that your address is valid. The result? Even more junk mail!
