This is a legitimate site used for remote-access purposes, HOWEVER these services are often used by phone con-artists to hack into the unwary user's machine and steal account passwords, etc. Read this accounting: ***** Beware.

The good: The site and features themselves are excellent. I used LogMeIn Central to manage about 50 office computers that had the free remote control app. It provides an excellent value. The bad: If you have a paid subscription with them and are planning to let the account cancel by not updating your credit card expiration date, beware. At renewal, they will resubmit your credit card # with new expiration dates until they find one that goes through. I find this unethical. If you need to cancel your account, CALL THEM (no way to do it online). They did the same thing to me for the LogMeIn Rescue account I used to have with them, and I got hit with the $1000+ annual charge from them. I had to contact them to have it reversed.

Gave me a trojan horse that activated itself on my computer a month later, stuck malware on my router so that all my browsers would redirect me to this strange website that wanted me to download a 'security update'. Be very careful with Hamachi, even if it seems trustworthy, always keep an eye on it.

Really, I don't work for Logmein, but will sound like I do. I've been using it for two or three years and if you need to connect with your computer at work or are lucky enough to be able to telecommute all the time, Logmein is terrific. I use just the free version and have never had a problem--assuming network at work was up and running (not always, alas). The pro version of Logmein allows printing from work to home computer among other things. The is a helluva good site.
