half the stuff you download is not the thing you downloaded. for example i downloaded something on a sandboxed pc so i didn't get malware and i got something completely different, plus tons of other garbage. i have seen malware on it before but only a few times.

When it doesn't, after you run a full computer scan, wih all file types(settings option), you will see virus,adware or else unwanted program. After remove, downloaded sofware not work anymore.

Very bad adware. Set the start page, search, address bar, toolbar on advertising and blocked the changes. With hardly managed recover, and the consequences stayed. Nearly reinstall the browser.

I download several programs, and at even if you pay attention, they always palm some navegation bar or pop-up program. Some of them are really agressive, and it's really difficult to take them out.
Some virus programmes, consider Softonic website, like a virus itself !!
Some years ago was better, but recently it's really terrible !!

Softonic antes estaba muy bien pues podías descargar a tu ordenador un sinfín de productos. Hoy estos productos vienen con una gran cantidad de virus, malwares y troyanos que se te instalen casi sin tu consentimiento en forma de barras de navegación y demás productos peligrosos para tu ordenador.

The once useful Softonic is now a PUP installer. Be very carefull when you download anything from them. It's much better to just google the name of the app and download it from the owner's website.

Their offer of downloads are a total sham. The things you download are, pretty much viruses. Instead of downloading what you want, you download things that do not even work, which are actually putting viruses into your computer. Even people saying that it destroys their computers! So, do not download anything of theirs.
