Utlimate bet was involved in a scandale were several million dollars were stolen. the worst part was there attitude: UltimateBet has knewn about the cheating for at least nine months. UltimateBet knew about but did not make any attempt to acknowledge the cheating before it was exposed. People who worked for UltimateBet facilitated the cheating. UltimateBet actively took steps to cover up these crimes and thwart the investigation of this scandal. for more info: *****

Did my own research based on other comments made. 60 minutes and the Washington Post did investigations on Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker and concluded that Russ Hamilton had been cheating on these sites. It is ***** and I just found out about this. I thank the WOT community for being so vigilant and pointing this out for other members.

UB had a superuser scandal, i.e. one or more of the owners or employees of this site had access to an account that could see other players holecards. Customers were cheated out of millions. Many people think that still many of the indiduals who were responsible for this are in charge or hold part of this company. I wont sponsor crooks and thieves and neither should you. ***** is trying to rebrand as UB.com, because of all the bad press they got. A good move on their part, but I'm trying to make sure their hall of shame follows them wherever they go. Of all the poker sites, this is one of the shadiest. Scandal after scandal after scandal. Google "ultimate bet superuser" to get an inkling of what happened there. Players were fleeced out of millions (in the range of $5-15 million) by poorly written software that allowed rogue employees to play on the site and be able to see their opponents hole cards. I personally lost thousands of dollars because of it (and ultimate bet admitted as such). I know everyone will assume I'm some fish that lost money and is annoyed, but do the google search and see for yourself. Trust me, avoid this site. There's been other scandals involving losing players getting shipped the pot, and recently, a glitch in the software that automatically showed your hole cards after folding. If you're interested in a RELIABLE poker site, try pokerstars or full tilt. They have had no shady happenings and a long history of excellent service and reliability. My credentials: professional poker player for 6 years, playing daily on multiple sites (have tried at least 30 sites over the years), and following poker news daily. BTW, Absolute Poker is also trash, as it has the same owners and also had bad cheating scandals (google "potripper"). There was even a 60 minutes report about this site's cheating scandal that was fairly accurate: ***** UPDATE: Yet ANOTHER scandal. Cereus network (Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker) decides to write their own "encryption" instead of industry standard SSL. The encryption they use is EASILY crackable. It's unknown whether anyone exploited this to cheat or not (my guess: yes). This sort of error would NOT happen on a site like Full Tilt/Pokerstars that uses SSL encryption. It's really quite pathetic, that a site with that much money being transferred back and forth could be so incompetent. The question remains was this an intentional oversight, or just pure ignorance. Either way, I would not trust a site so incompetent.
