Totally safe website and service. I've been using it to promote my websites for 6 months, works as described, no issues detected. It has nothing to do with malaware or viruses.
was surprised to see people complaining - the site has a great blog about marketing (I read them often and the articles are very helpful for business owners, lots of seo tutorials and help materials)
what is more their tools are impressive and I use them for work. safe and useful.
There is nothing bad about webmeup.com site itself. And especially, absolutely nothing to make it unsuitable for children. It's just a normal business website.
I use webmeup to crawl own/clients/competitors websites. Being hit by a crawler and the website not handling it is a sign to the site owner, that he or she should probably get out of shared hosting or configure the site properly. Either way, Webmeup has been good so far.
This bot does not respect the robots.txt. This bot is a bad bot.
@Striker79
You write: "For me this bot totally respects robots.txt"
You are wrong, the bot don´t read the robots.txt, so the bot can nothing respect
Update:
The bot does not read robots.txt
Host adress manipulation
Comes from the IP range 198.143.x.x
Tons of spam are incoming from this area
The best thing, block this ip range in the .htaccess

@NonSpam: For me this bot totally respects robots.txt (even including crawl-delay). Did you really test it? Cause from what i can see, it works and follows robots instructions very well.
@eden-g: I contacted developers and checked my access logs: the robot doesn't hit the same site more than once in 7(!) seconds. So your site can't hold 9 requests/MINUTE?! 0_o What are you doing? Go hire a webmaster then :)
@sakisl: Can't but agree - pretty useful, developers are fast to respond. No need to look for WHOIS info - you can contact them right from their website (+ by phone as well)
This SEO company's malicious SEO scraper bot crawler causes my server's load to spike and is causing my company financial harm by making my server and the sites on it unresponsive when this lowlife company's bot runs..
Newsflash SEO lowlifes: your private WHOIS isn't going to protect you from a lawsuiot seeking damages for your bot's malicious attacks on my server.
