This is a safe website and is deliberately a spoof. It's a harmless and very useful way of teaching young children not to believe everything they read on the internet. I think some people have given it a 'low' rating as they do not understand that it is very deliberately showing 'fake' information in a professional and harmless way. It serves as a fun tool for explaining what fake websites look like. I have used it a number of times to illustrate this. Don't forget to tell the kids that there is no such thing as a tree octopus after the learning experience.

Raises much-needed awareness of the tree octopus, Octopus paxarbolis, and the endangerment of this tragically obscure yet ecologically vital species.
