Software that uses easylist, blocks this site by default: ***** | grep bttrack.com ||bttrack.com^$third-party At the minimum this tracker does suspicious redirects and places tracking cookies. I don't trust the tracker with my cookies, images or javascript. If such a site gets compromised, as quttera.com/detailed_report/bttrack.com suggests it would impact my systems integrity.

I'm not sure why bttrack.com has a "misleading" tag except perhaps that bttrack is also the name of an open source project that is a BitTorrent Tracker for Linux. On the other hand, bttrack.com seems to be part of *****. The bidintellect.com webpage states it is, "The First Open, Multi-format, Multi-device Native Platform Connecting Advertisers and Publishers to Deliver Optimized and Insightful Native Advertising at Scale." So it sounds like an advertising platform, but Bidintellect itself is an online auction tracking platform. In fact, they describe their product as having a RTB exchange (Real-Time Bidding exchange) as the central piece. Their site also says, " Tap into 5.6 billion potential auctions each day. The Bidtellect platform gives you access. Simply provide your campaign assets and parameters, and high-converting consumers are driven to your website." My guess they've adopted their bidding tracker to be an ad placement system as well. The platform, "Offers In-ad, In-feed and Content Recommendation placements." So it's a ad placement (or other content - it doesn't have to be ads) system like many others. I don't think this one is tracking individuals so much as matching their ad portfolio up to the site being visited. I'd put it at the very low end of I trust as in I know what they are doing and I understand sites need ad revenue to run. So long as they aren't tracking me, I can live with it.
