well its kinda shady that the company uses their version of the open source codec, xvid, and they use it for profit... but this software does install lots of stuff in the background you dont want running on your computer... it also plays avi files poorly and hasnt properly played them since version 7, they have bad customer service (or lack their of) since thousands of tickets have been filed about this problem and even though thousands of customers are having the same problem and reporting them, what does the company do? absolutely nothing but give cheeky wisecracks back at its customers... and if your lucky enough to get them to admit their software is flawed, they wont fix it... they are just worried about scamming people into paying for the pro version
Installed the divx plug in without my consent. Probably installed it's software on my computer as well. I never installed this so the pop up window never came up (I wonder why). Otherwise I would have clicked NO. But instead this installed itself in my browser and on my computer behind the scenes.
Places that will install stuff on your computer without your consent should absolutely not be trusted. This reeks of spyware and viruses.
Does not fully uninstall you have to remove lots of left behind crap, if its so good why does it not just totaly uninstall, i dont trust it, you can make up your own mind, it also install a web page short cut to try and sell you a better version, thats a bit to cheeky for me.
