I think EE shouldn't be rated poorly just because it is a pay site. I am a member of EE and it is definitely worth the money. Sometimes it is difficult to find reliable information on the net when you are in a hurry (or even sometimes when you are not!). Besides, if you have extra time on your hands you don't have to pay. Just answer some questions and earn enough points to get a membership for free. That's why it's called "Experts Exchange".

While this site may be useful, most the information can be found for free online if you know how to look. Yes they do use a cloakling method to get top ranks on google. I wish you could do a pay per use membership as paying monthly does get quite expensive after a while. I only use this site once or twice a month, not hardly enough to merit paying for it. No spams or anything, And the link to cancel is pretty easy to find. Tho they do need to start emailing users the payment receipt... you have to login to the site to find that, just to print it out.

I've been on EE for a couple of years, first as a paid member, then as an 'expert'. I understand the annoyance of being lured in only to have to pay for a solution, but EE has been very helpful in quickly finding solutions I couldn't find elsewhere, and well worth the price. Don't think of this site as a fraud, scam or phishing scheme, but a well-organized, 'gated' community that is constantly improving.
