After going through a good few pages on this website's review, I decided to actually take a look at facebook's privacy statement:
"A Note About Your Personal Information
Despite what you may have heard, Facebook does not give your personal information to advertisers—including your name, profile picture or any of your photos.
Ads shown by third parties
Facebook does not give third party applications or ad networks the right to use your name or picture in ads. If we allow this in the future, the setting you choose will determine how your information is used.
You may see social context on third party sites, including in ads, through Facebook social plugins. Although social plugins enable you to have a social experience on a third party site, Facebook does not share your information with the third party sites hosting the social plugins.

Ads and friends
Everyone wants to know what their friends like. That's why we pair ads and friends—an easy way to find products and services you're interested in, based on what your friends share and like.
Here are the facts:
* Social ads show an advertiser's message alongside actions you have taken, such as liking a Page
* Your privacy settings apply to social ads
* We don't sell your information to advertisers
* Only confirmed friends can see your actions alongside an ad
* If a photo is used, it is your profile photo and not from your photo albums

From what I understand, facebook probably DID sell out your information in the past, realizing their has been an uprising about it, had then fixed it into what the user would more or less "like to hear" or well in this case, see.
Yes, you can edit your account to your liking, how private you would like it to be, at least for now. But there's only so much one can really hide. I'm not too computer savy, but anyone from this generation should understand that someone can always get into your information if they'd really like to: whether it be a job/college reviewing your profile or simply a hacker or even a marketing company. You're never really entirely safe.
I will also agree in the fact that the website is definitely virus prone with some of the ads they have as well as applications. Even simple things such as clicking on the wrong notification when you login.
It's an alright website, you just can't be too trusting in it. Don't post your entire life & every detail of yourself on it; even if that is the entire point of it. That's just foolish & asking for trouble. Be wary of what you choose to click & participate in as well.
I make a bad experience with this site. I was a member for long time, but one day, I comment some photos and what is what I have to see:
My comments were not taken in the line I post them, but in a wrong order. And I HOPE^^ I can also exclude that my account has been hacked...
Of course, dear facebook, it is only my experience. And I don't want to say that you are bad. Sure it's an exception. And if there are some hackers who can hack this thing, I think there are also some who can hack facebook. *****

Hay there tons of guys that use this cool appl WOT :) <3 love it!
Face Book I think its failling hard atm ... and going down dramaticly... ;)
sooryyy for my english fail spelling <;)
This site fucks up your life. Enter one bit of wrong information and it will be held against you. I suggest to not upload any photos or private information. The companies are scanning through your profile and will let you fail your job interview => no job - unemployment - no money - no food - starvation - Death, just because of one little mistake you made, posted on Facebook and is being held against you. Why ??
Database breaches, scammy apps that phish for passwords, sells and distributes your personal info without your consent, defaulted HTTP browsing when an HTTPS option is available (buried in My Account).
Facebook is a excellent way to connect with family and friends. Privacy is compromised significantly if someone sets their privacy to the 'recommended' setting, (it is not recommended by me.) Friends only setting eliminates unwanted activity. There are many spammy applications and Corporations are doing their best to take advantage of users by trying to manipulate people into buying their products with unwanted advertisements.
Facebook is useful for messengers, entertainment, etc. But all you dont want to do is do something wrong, such as:
*Clicking Randomly, (ads, viruses, links)
*Adding strangers you dont know
*Sharing personal imformation.
Those are 3 things you do not want to do.
