For those of you who keep complaining about inappropriate pictures or about privacy. First, if you are seeing inappropriate pictures, what the heck are you viewing that has inappropriate pictures? And if you have such a problem with it, stop viewing that page or that person! It's that simple!
Also, for those of you who complain about it because of you "sweet little kids" who are on it or who say there should be an age limit. First, Facebook is a site geared more towards high school and college students. It used to be solely for college students (you had to have a college email address to even be able to get an account). Then people started complaining (high school kids, Myspace kiddie retards, etc), and it was opened up to others.
And don't even try to blame your "sweet, precious little kiddies" being exposed to adult content all on Facebook's shoulders. It's called do your job as a parent and monitor what your kiddies are doing online instead of finding the easiest and fastest way and thing to blame it on rather than take responsibility for failing as a parent.
Also, if you want to complain about privacy too much, here's a novel concept. YOU control how much about you goes on there! Granted others can tag pictures of you, but in regards to information in your profile, that's all on you. So if you have a problem with someone seeing something about you, THEN DON'T PUT IT ON THERE!!! Retards.
Its not just the fact that a person can post inappropriate pictures, but it is also bad for spam, adware etc. It also has a tendency to promote hatefulness amongst younger users.
Facebook lets people post stupid remarks about others. Comments appear about yourself supposedly sent by friends but the reality is they have come from an unknown source.
The purpose of this site is to collect marketing data which users volunteer and other info you don't know is being downloaded unless you monitor the scripts running in the background. Add Firefox add on "NoScript" to see for yourself.
Before placing information on this site, the user must consider if the the information could be used against them in the future. This is because any information that is added to the site is ir-erasable, meaning it will be on the internet forever. As a result, personal details must be added with caution.
Facebook (and other web sites like it) should not be accessed by young children. It contains information and images that are not suitable for the younger generation. Therefore, its access should be restricted.
The annoying thing about Facebook is that every once in a while - like 1 out of 5 times - their apps throws up a really bad bug. I hardly use the place any more, have found it not worth my computers' safety or my peace of mind.
