Privacy issues has always been the on/off thing in facebook, which shouldn't be the case. Though it's useful for friends finder, it can also be annoying as the browsing time has become slower too.
There are also concerns that spams or any malware may intrude due to the lack of confidence into the facebook's privacy issue.
If you're gonna give profile information anywhere, try doing that elsewhere that has SSL and NOT at this location. With SSL, nobody can ever see this information, therefore your identity will be safe!
EDIT: Zlob trojan distributors have been confirmed to frequent this site! Be careful!
i know of kids as young as 10 using Facebook and some of the applications ie "illegal gifts" where used needles ,bags of crack and heroin are pictured for you to send your "friends"Also some of the games like mob wars are sick.No monitoring so kids use it
For those of you who keep complaining about inappropriate pictures or about privacy. First, if you are seeing inappropriate pictures, what the heck are you viewing that has inappropriate pictures? And if you have such a problem with it, stop viewing that page or that person! It's that simple!
Also, for those of you who complain about it because of you "sweet little kids" who are on it or who say there should be an age limit. First, Facebook is a site geared more towards high school and college students. It used to be solely for college students (you had to have a college email address to even be able to get an account). Then people started complaining (high school kids, Myspace kiddie retards, etc), and it was opened up to others.
And don't even try to blame your "sweet, precious little kiddies" being exposed to adult content all on Facebook's shoulders. It's called do your job as a parent and monitor what your kiddies are doing online instead of finding the easiest and fastest way and thing to blame it on rather than take responsibility for failing as a parent.
Also, if you want to complain about privacy too much, here's a novel concept. YOU control how much about you goes on there! Granted others can tag pictures of you, but in regards to information in your profile, that's all on you. So if you have a problem with someone seeing something about you, THEN DON'T PUT IT ON THERE!!! Retards.
Its not just the fact that a person can post inappropriate pictures, but it is also bad for spam, adware etc. It also has a tendency to promote hatefulness amongst younger users.
Facebook lets people post stupid remarks about others. Comments appear about yourself supposedly sent by friends but the reality is they have come from an unknown source.
