I agree with those who suggest that is not the role of WOT be judge and jury of ethical standards. I hate the whole idea of patent trolling, but that does not mean that it posses a direct threat to internet security. I hate the business practices of the Big Banks, Like JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, CitiGroup and more, but that does not mean they are a threat to internet security per se.

WOT trolls that utilize WOT for grand-standing on their impish philosophical differences with the actual site will lead to the ruination of WOT. WOT exists to be as "Open Source" as possible for all parties involved. trolling WOT just to bash a company's rep because you disagree with their agenda is not purpose of WOT. It is in fact these very WOT squatters and WOT trolls that will eventually lead to WOT being WODT...web of distrust.

While the idea of a photonic fence is absolutely awesome, this company, as well as the Gates foundation that funded the project are a patent trolls, i.e. organizations that use copyright and patent law in a way that restricts any one who is not a member of said organization from reverse engineering the product and potentially improving upon it, all for the sake of greed. This causes technology to stagnate and not grow, leaving us with a crappy product that could be much better. But the manufacturer will not even attempt to make improvements because they are getting money for the crappy thing as it stands. This is bad economic behavior, and should be eliminated.

Come on people, so what if a company is involved in enforcing patent issues through litigation. I don't like lawyers generally either, but if you were an inventor, and you wanted to make money off your invention without some foreign company ripping you off, you would want an army of lawyers to back you up also. Without patent enforcement all innovation would nearly come to a standstill. Do you want technological advancement? Well then you have to reward the inventor. Why do you think Apple is the richest company in America? Because they fight to defend their patents.
