The site itself is fine, but the offered product may not be as secure as made to seem. If you do not REALLY need Java, you are better off without it. Java is slow, terrible and unnecessarily elongated. We have to use it because devs won't switch to the similar but better Python (it is, without a doubt, better as it is faster, has very simple code and can implement Python and C libraries and embed C and Assembly code). They are not trustworthy because Java is closed source (so you don't know what they are doing) and owned by the unreliable Oracle (see OpenOffice (which Oracle abandoned)). They are certainly not reliable as the latest Java update can have enough security holes for Firefox to block. They don't take care of you privacy for the first reasons and it's not child safe because it makes children think that Java is good, which is possibly the greatest lie ever. If you are a programmer, NEVER, EVER USE JAVA. If you are a browser, ONLY USE JAVA WHEN YOU HAVE TO, find alternatives if you can (like OpenJDK, open-source Java). The Internet would be EPIC without Java. We don't need Flash anymore either, see the YouTube HTML5 player. All this applies to the website because they are providing a TERRIBLE 'service' and they are lying through their teeth and saying that Java is 'fast, secure and reliable' which I have told you is an INCREDIBLE lie for such a big company to make. Please, please, please don't think that the web needs Java. It only needs it because developers won't change. They could change to easier languages to do the same job (like HTML5 or Python). Hell, YouTube is written in Python.

When you install Java - and you go to the options and opt for it Not to update automatically, click Apply and exit - the next time you boot or restart it will change your choice to Yes - every time - and it cannot be disabled (that option). This is the very definition of hijacking, and it is unprofessional and immoral.
