So far so good. Easily navigated site. Honest prices up front - what I saw on the site was what I paid, unlike some others. Good client support so far. Some difficulty with payment details that have been resolved, but they're hardly the only American company that doesn't admit there's a world outside their borders. So yeah, I trust them. One comment: the "WOT rating" is advertised as a "WOT protects you against scams, untrustworthy links and rogue web stores". I almost didn't go to Katom because of the WOT rating. However, looking at other review places, I went, and I've been quite satisfied. So, being the geek turned chef that I am I did some digging. It turns out that the ENTIRE current "unsatisfactory" rating is due to some forum spam done in Katom's name in 2009 and 2012. But the purveyors of the low ratings only posted the fact that they did so in 2013. The Katom admin even came in and said sorry, they didn't know it was happening, and they would take steps to try to see it wouldn't happen again. Another poster basically said "we don't believe you". Fair enough, companies lie all the time. But I've not seen ANY examples SINCE that time. So over 2 years ago someone spammed some forums in Katom's name and screwed their reputation seemingly forever? WOT claims the WOT system can't be manipulated. Frankly, if that's all it takes to kill a reputation, I've rarely seen anything simpler to manipulate, at least downwards. That's not what I'd call protecting me from "scams, untrustworthy links and rogue web stores". This situation isn't something that makes Katom look bad. This makes WOT look bad. I'll have to re-think whether I trust WOT for anything if it's going to take me this much effort to determine why a site has a poor reputation.

This site (Katom.com) performs exceptionally as an online retailer. They are a very safe browsing experience, blog appropriately and don't appear to have anything blackhat about them. I disagree with the spam label that must be deriving from B2B bad-mouthing.

Love KaTom. They have good selection of kitchen supplies, utensils, equipment... pretty much anything you'd want for your kitchen or restaurant. Their website is user friendly, they have good informative articles on their Learning Center, too and a fun blog to follow. If you're new to the restaurant world or just want to learn about big time cooking. Trustworthy stuff. Would recommend them, friendly customer service, too.

KaTom has nothing but the best intentions for their customers and its site is 100% safe for anyone who visits it. I have worked with countless companies within the past decade and KaTom is the best by far. It is just plain absurd that there are accusations of child safety issues and pornography on KaTom.com. They only sell restaurant supplies for crying out loud. I agree with George, this seems extremely fishy to me... - Jeremy

My restaurant group has purchased most all of our kitchen supplies from this company for the last 10 years. The site is quick and informative and when I need offline help customer service is always great to deal with. I really like their large selection of products and pricing is always fair.

There is absolutely no reason for this site to have the low rating it seems to have. They are a MacAffee Trusted site, BBB certified site, and feature several trust/security certifications. They have ZERO child interactions or any child-applicable content, so there is no reason for any child safety concerns. It appears that some unscrupulous user of a competing vendor is trying to sabotage their online rating. I use the site often, it is safe, reliable and offers good prices on good stuff.

I find this rating to be... Problematic in that it appears to be vendor slam. How is a restaurant supply company, that has NO ADULT MATERIAL, a problem with Child Safety? There's no porn. There's no adult material. There's nothing there, in any way, shape or form, that would be lacking in 'child safety.' I've been there many times (in price shopping). I've never had any issue with spam, annoying pop-ups, phishing, etc. I've never had a virus or had my virus checker go nuts and I run two of them simultaneously. I should also point out that Katom, on 718 Google Ratings, has a 4.5 star rating. Clearly, to me, something fishy is going on. It makes no sense for the ratings to be so different. Rather, this really seems to be yet another case of where someone has decided to use the WOT ratings as a way to exercise a grudge or slam a competitor.
