Claims to be a legitimate e-mail service provider, but keeping spammers off their networks must not be a high priority.
* Sends massive amount of repeated spam
* Does not handle abuse complaints or opt outs in a timely fashion
* Does not vet their customers or their e-mail marketing lists adequately
"Best in class marketing automation software" equals spam with a click. Spam message: Put your data on a diet - SAP and Excel integration for long term results. Message header: ***** ([199.15.215.239]) . Guessing the email source is either hacked or spoofed.
Also, there appears to be a lot of suspected scorecard manipulation.
More spam: "Webinar: Easily Integrate Excel and SAP with Studio v11". From the message header: ***** ([199.15.215.239]). I am tired of hearing from this firm.
Despite having a spam policy in place, marketo.com customers (hostway.com) still generate spam to one of my accounts. This is clearly illegal and marketo.com is complicit.
Marketo is known as a professional marketing company that helps B2B companies and individuals advertise. What I have found in my initial investigation is that they are NOT the type of people that intentionally send out spam to you. It appears that they are being victimized by spammers, just like everyone else has been by the falsified headers the spammers are using.
Please give them a fair shake by rating them accordingly. This means if you have never dealt with them before, do not give them a negative rating because you see someone else do that.. If you've not had any personal dealings with the site(s), then the only things you should be rating them on is their site content.
I've been a Marketo customer for 1 year, and I know and like many Marketo employees. I also know and like many employees at their competitors' companies. I have a bias, but will endeavor to be as transparent and impartial as possible.
The reason I am a Marketo customer is because I had a good customer experience on marketo.com for 1 year prior to becoming a customer, as well as a good experience in the past year that I have been a Marketo customer. In 2 years of repeatedly visiting marketo.com and filling in forms on their site, I have never been spammed or had my private information compromised.
There is confusion in some of the comments because marketo.com hosts some of its customers web pages, and sends emails out from their mail server on behalf of their customers. Bad customer behavior is wrongfully being attributed to Marketo. The ratings are inaccurately low on this site as a result.
This site is wrongly rated. After further review they're a marketing company that offers an array of services and products. They also have a social media policy fully disclosed on their site.
No alerts, no malicious content.
Disclosure: I've been a Marketo customer for almost 2 years.
I love all of the free resources that Marketo provides on their site and blog. I've relied on it in my job and shared it with my colleagues.
I've used and recommended Marketo for lead nurturing and lead scoring. It has an intuitive, but powerful interface. The integration with SalesForce is seamless.
I am a Marketo customer and have to say they are very professional and trustworthy company. Their website is safe a secure and in all my dealings with them they have been responsive to any concern I've had. This is one of the fastest growing SaaS companies and their product enables their customers to send email campaigns. So if one of their customers send you and unsolicited email, that doesn't mean it's Marketo's fault.
Update about Marketo:
Marketo has recently updated our Social Media, Disclosure and Ethics Policy and train all employees on this policy: http://www.marketo.com/social-media-policy.php If you believe there is infringement please email mailto:socialmedia@marketo.com
Marketo also has a strict email and anti-spam policy: http://www.marketo.com/email-use-policy.php Complaints against this by Marketo or our customers will be taken seriously should be sent to mailto:abuse@marketo.com.
Marketo has asked any employee with ratings of ***** on WOT to remove them immediately or disclose their affiliation as they do not adhere to our social media policy, disclosure, and ethics policy.
Note- I am an employee at Marketo.
Ridiculous to receive a WOT alert when trying to visit this site. Anyone that rates marketo as an untrustworthy site is very confused about security issues. This is a reputable company providing a legitimate B2B marketing tool. Even in the category of privacy, marketo is upfront and honest in its privacy policies - and by nature of the product if you visit the site and follow their thought leadership you understand the principal of marketing automation software. Seeing negative comments about this site seems more like a ploy from disgruntled competitors.
