Several years ago, I had a good experience with Norton. But in the last year before Windows 7 came out, the Norton Antivirus program for my Dell Windows XP Home Media edition locked up. I had to get a reinstall. Then another time again! Then I noticed that there are limited reinstalls before they won't give you anymore.
So, I gave up even though half my paid-for year was still ahead. I went to the free Microsoft antivirus program, "Microsoft Security Essentials."
Stuck with the free MS antivirus. With MS, NO PROBLEMS!
So, on my new Asus with Windows 7, I have used Microsoft Security Essentials for a year with no problems .... for free.
Had this POS a long time ago. It's full of ads, and is entirely bloated with other crap symantec wants you to activate.
"Are you sure that you may be in opposite standing to the decision to possibly remove this software? Click "Cancel" in the upper right-hand subtext to insure your possible opposition to presented case" - A summary of the uninstall process.
This website is owned and operated by Symantec Corporation. This is a highly respected anti-virus company, though in recent years its fame has all but diminished due to its ethical issues (including the Ask toolbar in its products). Still, it is a safe website and a decent anti-virus. Trusted by reputable companies such as VirusTotal and Microsoft, also a member of the Microsoft Active Protections Program (MAPP).
Norton sucks. Dissatisfied with their product as a consumer.
p.s. I am aware that their employees will now give my comment a negative rating, like they do to every negative review on C|net, but I couldn't care less.
Symantecin Norton tarjoaa tarvitsemasi tietokoneesi suojaamiseksi, keskeisimmistä varotoimista, kuten firewall:sta ja backup:sta, anti phising ja anti spam.
