Impossible to cancel your subscription. Claim my account and email are not on file yet my credit card apparently still is.

Utter SCAM. Supports and praises PC-Matic, a well known rogue AV.

Doesn't seem professional, heard many complaints, just check the other reviews. They way over exaggerate their claims. They claim other anti-virus providers are evil because someone in the same geographic region/continent/country made a virus before, yet ignores the fact that a vast majority of viruses are actually created and used by people right here in the USA, so by their own logic they shouldn't be trusted either. Most of what they charge for is easily available for free from Open Source projects, tools like CCleaner, and other AV-providers who have built up much better reputations over a longer period of time than PCMatic.

PC Pitstop is the owner of PCMatic, which is advertised on their website like this: "There is a secret that the big names in virus protection don't want you to know. Products like Microsoft, AVG, Symantec, McAfee, don't effectively block modern viruses. Stop wasting your time on software that only makes you FEEL secure. Get PC Matic that actually protects your PCs *and* keeps them running great! Visit PCMatic.com." These claims about Microsoft, AVG, Symantec and McAfee are simply wrong. Numerous independent antivirus testing organisations like AV-Comparatives (http://www.av-comparatives.org/) and AV-Test (http://www.av-test.org/en/home/) have verified that these products DO effectively block modern viruses. For example, consider the following detection rates taken from the AV-Comparatives File Detection Test from September 2013 (source: ***** PC Matic uses the Vipre engine.* McAfee - 99.6% Vipre - 99.0% AVG - 98.3% Microsoft - 90.1% Symantec - 89.7% No antivirus is perfect (including PC Matic, as shown above). However, most of the "big names" are good enough to keep most users virus-free for the lifetime of their computer. It is misleading and unethical to claim that the "big names" don't work, while PC Matic does. Other WOT users have accused PC Matic of using bait and switch marketing, and of using scareware tactics to get users to buy the full version. However, since I have never actually used the software, I am only qualified to complain about the deceptive adverts. * NOTE: Vipre is not affiliated with PC Pitstop; PC Matic just uses Vipre's antivirus engine. Please do not downrate websites affiliated with Vipre based on the conduct of PC Pitstop.

Searching for DVD driver found what appeared to be an older 2001 version than the 2006 version I already had. In addition, it appeared that this site was trying to trick me into downloading diagnostic software called PC PitStop.

As a tech guy, I can tell their claims are laughable at best. This site is definitely targeted to the tech illiterate people, so they can sell them a product that do things free programs can do just as well, and potentially better. These might even contain or be junkware.

A lot of spam. Pff ..............

I am completely NOT understanding why this one has a green rating, considering it has ALL bad comments, except two. Of course, a lot of folks don't leave comments with every rating, otherwise that would be a lot of comments a person would have to leave over the life time of using WOT in their browsers. So most people simply rate the website. Unfortunately in this case, there has been a ton of people rating the website as good apparently, but the folks leaving comments are all from the bad ratings. But something else I don't understand - is that the other browser security apps, like 'McAfee', and others are claiming this website to be safe also. As a matter fact the reason I specifically mentioned McAfee, is because it tested over 420+ downloads, and all came back safe. Also the website isn't associated with any other bad or risky websites. And normally bad websites are associated with other bad websites. So I guess I'm just not sure about this one. I guess I can check it out for myself, download a few random drivers or something, and test them to see if they're infected. Then, I'll leave a detailed comment explaining my findings...

It is pay-ware. There is no obvious link to the prices and if you click on a lot of the links, you are asking the site to analyze your computer.

This site is ONLY about selling you their products! JUST like PC MATIC. If your PC is infected you can do the same 'cleanup' for FREE. Download the following (from ***** or ***** - any FreeWare site) SuperAntiSpyware, SpyBot, MalwareBytes, CCleaner (Do the Custom Install - Do not choose to do the Trial) AVG AntiVirus Free or ZoneAlarm Free (turn on AntiVirus)

I wasn't sure which was more appropriate between scam, spam and other (mixed and possibly dangerous, unsure of this though). Perhaps because I'm jaded, I could tell from the overall layout, style, wording and 1995 look that it's spammy. Scammy because it recommends crapware (could be in order of maliciousness possibly adware, spyware, malware or isGoing-andWillTakeYouAndYourPCWithIT-Nowhere. That last one = joke. Seriously, this site is not kosher.

How this site got a good rating is a big mystery. The site is really iffy in terms of trustworthiness of both its software and its services.

Hosts scare ware called PCmatic

All these negative reviews but still such a high WOT rating. Weird.. Maybe WOT shouldn't be trusted

Official website owned and operated by PC Pitstop,LLC. I have visited and used PC Pitstop for many years and never had any issues. Informative newsletter, website, forums and databases.

PC Pitstop PC Matic uses "bait and switch" sales technique. They offer a "free" scan. After downloading and running a program it does a lengthy scan and produces a list of "issues". When you hit the "Fix" button, THEN it tells you that it costs $49. To be honest they should state the cost before the user goes through the trouble of doing a scan. In my opinion, this bait-and-switch sales policy is unethical.
